Welcome to Lucie Marie Counselling
Hi, I’m Lucie. I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor, and I know how much courage it can take to reach out for support. I’ve been there myself. It can often feel overwhelming, scary and unknown. Taking that first step can be challenging but I hope to be able to walk through this with you.
As a Person-centred counsellor I work in an empathic, respectful and non-judgemental way. You are the expert of yourself and I am here to offer you a safe, warm and trusting environment where you can safely explore your feelings, thoughts and challenges and come to understand them. We will work at your time and pace and I hope to give you a space where you feel heard, respected and really listened to, where you will be able to heal and grow.
I believe each person is individual and unique, so will follow your lead. If you need a space to talk, unload, to just sit in silence for a while or if you feel you want to express yourself in a more creative way, we can do that too.

A little bit about me.
For a long time, I experienced anxiety at a time when people didn’t really talk about that sort of thing and mental health was spoken about. It felt isolating, confusing and times I felt a little lost and didn’t really know who I was. Things only began to change when I finally started speaking about it. Talking helped me understand what was going on, and just as importantly, it helped those around me understand me too. That made a real difference.
My journey into counselling began while I was working at a local charity supporting bereaved families. I saw just how powerful it could be to have a safe space to talk. They just needed to be heard. It was clear how much healing could happen simply by allowing someone to share what they were feeling, in their own time and in their own way. That experience, and my own, stayed with me and led me to train as a counsellor.
I also work along side two local bereavement charities offering support to families or individuals who have lost a loved one. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Sometimes we carry so much without ever really saying how we feel.
How often do we tell someone we’re fine, even when we’re not? Whether it’s a friend, partner or family member, it’s easy to brush things off and keep going. But the truth is, speaking honestly can make a real difference. Talking to someone outside the situation, who isn’t caught up in your day-to-day life, can help you see things more clearly and feel less alone in what you're carrying.
You might be facing something recent or something that’s been sitting with you for years. It might be sadness, frustration, confusion, or something you can't quite put into words yet. Whatever you bring, this is a space where every emotion is welcome, whether that’s grief, anger, fear or something in between. You don’t need to hold back or explain things in a certain way. You’ll be met with warmth, understanding and no judgement.
Our time together is shaped around you.
There’s no pressure to talk in a certain way or cover certain topics. Some days you might want to talk through something in depth. Other days, you might just need to sit quietly or take things slowly. All of that is okay. My role is to walk alongside you and to hold a space that feels steady and safe, no matter what you’re bringing.
This is your space, and you will always be at the heart of it.
A calm and inviting space to talk
I've created a space that is warm and comfortable to allow my clients to express themselves in a calm, inviting space.
